The entire process of living in Zimbabwe is somewhat of a gamble at the moment, so you may think that there might be very little desire for going to Zimbabwe's casinos. In reality, it seems to be operating the other way, with the critical market conditions leading to a larger eagerness to play, to try and locate a fast win, a way from the difficulty.

For the majority of the citizens subsisting on the tiny nearby money, there are two dominant styles of gaming, the national lotto and Zimbet. As with almost everywhere else on the planet, there is a state lotto where the probabilities of hitting are surprisingly low, but then the winnings are also remarkably high. It's been said by economists who look at the idea that many don't buy a card with a real belief of winning. Zimbet is founded on one of the national or the United Kingston soccer leagues and involves determining the results of future games.

Zimbabwe's gambling halls, on the other shoe, pander to the astonishingly rich of the state and vacationers. Up until not long ago, there was a very big tourist business, built on nature trips and visits to Victoria Falls. The economic collapse and connected bloodshed have cut into this trade.

Amongst Zimbabwe's gambling dens, there are two in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has five gaming tables and slot machines, and the Plumtree gambling hall, which has just the slot machine games. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has only slot machines. Mutare has the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, both of which have gaming tables, slots and video poker machines, and Victoria Falls has the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, the two of which offer gaming machines and tables.

In addition to Zimbabwe's casinos and the aforementioned alluded to lottery and Zimbet (which is very like a pools system), there is a total of two horse racing tracks in the nation: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the second city) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Since the economy has shrunk by more than 40% in the past few years and with the associated poverty and bloodshed that has resulted, it isn't known how healthy the vacationing business which funds Zimbabwe's casinos will do in the in the years to come. How many of the casinos will carry on until things improve is basically unknown.
